As Cody Rhodes made his entrance, all dressed up in a suit and with a big smile, chants of “You deserve it!” surrounded the ring. Rhodes begins his promo, getting emotional with everything that has happened in the last few hours, and now it is time to talk about WrestleMania 40. The American Nightmare turned to the logo of the event but the Architect, Seth Rollins came to the ring.

Rollins being the best babyface points out that the fans are right, and Cody surely deserves it. But just then, he drops the major bomb. He asks Rhodes to face him instead of Roman Reigns in WrestleMania. Rollins says the former AEW star isn’t “the guy.” Rollins makes it clear that he is “The Guy” and his championship is “The Championship.” He further asked if Rhodes wanted the Hollywood title with the backstage politics or the Dusty Rhodes title. And if Dusty had to choose, he would be very clear. With such a dilemma in hand, Rhodes required time to answer. So what can we expect to happen next? Would Rhodes facing ‘The Architect’ make more sense?

As we headed towards the Royal Rumble, everyone expected an upcoming feud between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. Especially after the highly emotional promo the two shared on Raw last week. However, destiny has other plans, as CM Punk suffered an injury at the Royal Rumble that would rule him out for months. Now that Punk is out of the picture and Rhodes won the rumble, it is sure that he will be facing either Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns for the title.

‘The American Nightmare’ had an intense staredown with The Tribal Chief. However, we cannot forget the much-anticipated return of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson that occurred earlier this month. And in his promo post for his return, the Rock hinted at sitting at the top of the table. This means that the WWE would be aiming for a match between the two cousins at WrestleMania, so it wouldn’t make much sense for Rhodes to try to have a match against Rollins.

Especially when Seth Rollins is looking for an opponent himself, as many expected him to have a feud with CM Punk as well after his reaction to the return of ‘The Cult of Personality’. But now we all know that Punk is out of the picture, and Rollins personally asked Rhodes to face him for the title. The World Heavyweight champion understands that the former AEW star chose Reigns last year, as there was only one title. But now the picture has changed. In his promo with Rhodes, he mentioned the World Heavyweight Championship was born with one purpose only: to give the fans what they wanted. A title that is not defended every two months.

And that would make a lot of sense for the WWE, as a title defense is one of the biggest draws for any PPV. And having Rhodes as the champion after Rollins would still mean a regular shot at the title can be attained by others on the roster. What do you think? Should ‘The American Nightmare’ face Seth Rollins? Let us know in the comments.
