If there’s someone who’s truly using fashion as a way to showcase his character in wrestling, it is Seth Rollins. Ever since his return in 2020, Rollins has been coming out to the ring with gears that shock the world. His gears references include comic book characters, celebrities, and his favorite sports teams.

But this time he has used fashion in another way, a way that seeps into the mind of his opponent. But what was the message that might send shivers to his upcoming challenger, Finn Balor?

In a post on Instagram, captioned, “Let’s get crazy“, he shares a photo of his boots that he may wear this Saturday at SummerSlam. The highlighted part in the boots clearly says, “7 Year, Bi***“. This is a subtle reference to SummerSlam 2016, where Balor beat Rollins in a historic match, crowning the first-ever Universal Champion.

But this match is also remembered as the one that completely altered the career path of Balor forever. The next day, Balor had to relinquish his newly won world title due to an injury that occurred due to Rollins’ buckle bomb on the barricade. Ever since then, Balor has never won a world title, but he looks to change that reality this weekend.

This post is a clever double entendre from Rollins, seeking his revenge, and playing mind games with Balor reminding him of that unfortunate injury. But Rollins might not be the one with the raised hand at SummerSlam, and neither will Balor, given the antics happening on WWE Raw every single week.

Ever since his victory at Money in the Bank, Damien Priest has been eyeing down the World title that Rollins holds. Even in the last title match between Balor and Rollins at Money in the Bank, Priest interfered, looking to cash in on Rollins. This acted as a distraction for Balor, by which Rollins was able to pick up the victory and retain his title.

For the following weeks on Raw, The Judgement Day fumbled the bag as Balor and Priest could not come on the same page. But with a little help from ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley, they looked like they were on the same page. But Priest’s side-eye glance and Balor’s comments about the cash-in increase the chances that Rollins won’t be walking out as the champion.
