Is WWE's storytelling at risk with Seth Rollins potentially taking a break after his recent mistake?

Seth Rollins returned to WWE right before Money in the Bank this year and fans seemed excited about it. Although things haven’t exactly gone his way since the viewers expressed their delight to see him back in action since his post-WrestleMania XL injury hiatus. On Monday Night Raw after SummerSlam, however, Rollins may have inflicted another injury on himself.

This happened during an in-ring segment as he looked to settle things with his long-running foe. However, Bronson Reed attacked him instead to prove a point. Reed dished out some vicious punishment that forced a WWE veteran to speak on the topic.

Seth Rollins should have been saved from the onslaught earlier

On Monday Night Raw 08/05, we saw Bronson Reed attack Seth Rollins out of nowhere. Although the latter fought back, Reed eventually splashed him by jumping from the top turnbuckle. He repeated this maneuver six times in the segment and the staff present didn’t interrupt him until Rollins coughed up blood. Dutch Mantell said on his podcast, “ I would think with Seth at this point, Seth don’t know him from Madam Southcats. And to let that guy and just a little mistake, not catching yourself. I mean, it’s almost a half inch could be the result of an injury or not. I mean, that’s a lot of weight and gravity shows no favorite.

Since Reed is a bigger man than Rollins, Mantell believes that the Visionary shouldn’t have given him the liberty to jump on him repeatedly. Especially when the consensus among fans is that the former World Heavyweight Champion could be out for several weeks following this injury.

Fears of fans were allayed as Seth Rollins could be back sooner than expected

After the attack on Seth Rollins, fans wouldn’t be wrong in thinking he may be laid off for quite some time. However, Dave Meltzer reported that things are going fine for the former Shield member. There are no serious injuries that fans should concern themselves with. This means that there is no hiatus for Rollins as of now. With that said, Meltzer also claimed that he was taking some time off to recover from the trauma that his body received, which is probably for the better. The wrestling journalist also doesn’t know when the “banged-up” star could be back in the game again.
