Seth Rollins delivered an outstanding performance at SummerSlam, not just as a wrestler but as a true entertainer. The Revolutionary took part in one of the event’s most crucial bouts, which had been planned six months in advance. The contest did pay off, resulting in a fantastic 5-star battle. However, there was some controversy during the match, which Rollins caused.

Here we’re talking about the brand-new referee camera that WWE debuted at SummerSlam. It was new technology, and Rollins initially wore it but eventually tossed it off. The reason behind this has recently been disclosed, as Fightful News provided some insights into the issue.

Seth Rollins seemed to have become frustrated with the camera, and the battery dropped out in the middle of the match. This rendered the camera useless, and Seth Rollins decided that the best course of action was to dispose of it. Later, there were reports of Rollins receiving heat backstage after SummerSlam due to this Ref Cam incident. However, it has now been revealed that Rollins received no pushback from WWE backstage, as the corporation values its top superstar more than the new technology they were testing for this event.

Corey Brennan of Fightful news revealed this information by stating, “Seth Rollins took off his referee cam at SummerSlam because the battery pack fell out during the Punk/McIntyre match. WWE had planned on showing a lot more footage from Seth’s point of view, but the battery falling out quickly put a stop to that. Rollins made a split-second judgment call at the moment to abandon the entire project. There was reportedly no heat on the ‘Visionary’ for taking the camera off, given that it was brand new technology and the battery falling out was discussed beforehand backstage as potentially happening.”

It appears that now that SummerSlam is over, The Visionary is facing a significant challenge ahead, as a major feud is on the horizon. This will not be a championship feud, as post-SummerSlam speculation suggests that CM Punk will face Seth Rollins in the future. Punk attacked Rollins toward the end of the bout, costing him the match as well.

Not only that, but both superstars have been generating a lot of heat toward each other for quite some time, and it appears that now is the moment for them to finally face off. This could be incredible, as WWE has many opportunities with these two outstanding superstars. Only time will tell what plans WWE has in mind for this feud.
