WWE is currently on the mission of bringing the old good days back for its fans. CM Punk is back home after almost a decade and so is The Viper after being out due to an injury for over a year.

Now, it seems like they are prepping to carry forward Randy Orton‘s story involving the 39-year-old, Santos Escobar. This week’s SmackDown might witness Orton seemingly nearing an open confrontation with his first singles challenger since his return.

Santos Escobar hopes Randy Orton “doesn’t show up”

Ever since the groundbreaking Survivor Series PLE went down, there has been a lot of buzz among fans about a number of impending storylines. For those who have been curious about WWE’s plan for “The Apex Predator,” Santos Escobar dropped a massive hint.

It has been only a few weeks since the former NXT Champion shockingly turned on Rey Mysterio on a SmackDown episode. Now, he has again shown his newfound dark side by, throwing a chilling warning to Randy Orton who is scheduled to appear at this week’s Friday Night show.

During a recent interview, Escobar let his feelings for The Viper known.

Escobar noted, “I just heard that Randy’s gonna show up on SmackDown this Friday. Is that correct? Well, I hope he doesn’t show up. Cuz I know he’s a legend killer but I just send a legend away for good I don’t want to send him away too, so if he’s watching this, I hope he doesn’t show up.”

Is it a wake-up call for a perked-up Randy Orton just after recovering from a grave injury? We need to see where the tease leads on this week’s SmackDown and beyond.

The Viper, however, will be wise not to consider Escober’s barb as hollow seeing Mysterio’s current status.

What’s Rey Mysterio’s current health update after Escober left him injured?

Rey Mysterio has faced a handful of betrayals in his career. After healing the effect of a boiling storyline with son Dominik Mysterio, the Elder Mysterio made his stablemate a foe without even realizing it.

Escobar has had a strong grievance with Mysterio since he took an injured Escobar’s place in a match with the United States Champion against Austin Theory.

After costing him the title at Crown Jewel, Escober launched a vicious attack on the Master of 619 in a recent SmackDown episode.

It left a grave bruise on Mysterio’s already injured knees. He had to go for surgery afterward. Although the surgery went well, he’s not coming to get the better of Escober at least for another 6 to 8 weeks.
