The new year has not been kind to the WWE. Barely two weeks into the year, the promotion has already seen the departure of Stephanie McMahon. And the return as the head of the directors for Vince McMahon has been quite surprising.

To top that all, it has been reported that the company is up for sale with Saudi’s Public Investment Fund as the frontrunner. However, a top official from the promotion recently met another potential buyer, sparking reactions from the fans.

A frenzy at the top has ensured a constant power struggle for the company. Who comes out on top eventually remains to be seen. McMahon certainly seems like a front-runner to be standing tall when the dust settles.

He has overseen arguably the most significant times of the business. The WWE is in dire need of the return of good times. And CEO Nick Khan recently met with Disney CEO Bob Iger and ESPN president James Pitaro on Monday.

What lies in the future of WWE after the return of Vince McMahon?

It’s anyone’s guess on what was discussed in the meeting but the proposed sale of the company would be on top of the agenda. With many potential buyers, including the aforementioned PIF and Disney, the business appears to be just a formality.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, “Nick Khan was in Los Angeles when I was in Los Angeles. [He] went to the football game Monday night, so he wasn’t at Raw and met with heavy hitters because they went to the College Football Championship game. Bob Iger, Jimmy Pitaro, so I guess those names will ring some bells. They’re looking to sell by the middle of the year, JPMorgan is helping them.”

While McMahon’s daughter stepped away from her role, it is still unclear what happens to Chief Content Officer Triple H. As of now, the product remains unaffected as it was business as usual at SmackDown, with the main event seeing Sami Zayn against Kevin Owens.

McMahon engineered a masterful comeback first as a board member, then quickly moved as the head of the board in no time.

He is back months after alleged accusations of hush money had banished him to unreturnable depths. However, the former head of creative made his move just at the right time, leaving many shell-shocked.
