2021 was one of the most important years for the sports entertainment industry. Some of the athletes who have made a huge impact in their respective sports, especially WWE, are Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair.
In 2020, WWE had to restrict all fans from attending the live shows. The company was working from The ThunderDome which allowed the fans to attend the shows virtually. During this time, superstars like Banks and Belair pulled the women’s division forward.

Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair created history in 2021
Belair secured the victory at the Women’s Royal Rumble match and earned the opportunity to challenge the champion of her choice. She chose to challenge Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, who was the champion then.
At WrestleMania 37, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair headlined the main event for Night 1. This was only the second time women were headlining the main event for The Show of Shows. Additionally, Banks and Belair became the first of their ethnicity to headline WrestleMania.

It was an exciting moment for the women’s industry, and the duo put up an excellent performance for the audience. The thrill was much more because WWE WrestleMania 37 was the first time in a year where the fans returned to a live show.
Bianca Belair won the match and became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. But, the impact they made became evergreen.
Currently, Belair is working with WWE Raw and Banks with WWE SmackDown. Charlotte Flair is the current Raw Women’s Champion and Becky Lynch is the SmackDown Women’s Champion. None of them are in a championship storyline at the moment!
