Mercedes Mone continues to make things intricate regarding her much-anticipated AEW debut. With her recent move, it seems she can throw Khan on the scrap heap at the final minute. Tony Khan left no stone unturned to make the upcoming Big Business a really big deal in TD Garden, Boston. And it was Mercedes Mone who mostly made the loadstone of all the hype and advertisement. But will all that finally culminate in the former WWE star’s arrival in the Jacksonville-based promotion?
Sasha Khan’s cryptic post casts serious doubt on Tony Khan’s Big Business USP
Khan has been big on giving away multiple teases flaunting the potential AEW move of the former IGPW Woman’s Champion. Mone herself also dropped a few hints of her return trotting out her training video, using money motifs in the artwork of the special wrestling word, etc, making it an almost steadfast reality.

But as we rapidly approach the big AEW day, it looks like The CEO pulled the plug on the surefire. The 32-year-old posted a photo on her Instagram stories that implicated her journey toward Japan, the NJPW homeland. So, is it a potential NJPW resigning? Well, while the post didn’t directly imply that, it leaves ample space for doubts.
Within just seven months of an abrupt WWE release, Mone dipped her feet in the dream promotion NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom in January 2023 by attacking the then-champion Kairi. The former Sasha Banks then kept on riding high on her prowess. She appeared in the NJPW Battle in the Valley and clinched the IWGP Women’s Championship from Kairi as the second woman to ever do it. She was able to defend the belt in a three-way against AZM and Hazuki later on days before losing it to Iwatani.
But since her active contact with the Japanese promotion is over, she is now a free agent, and as per ‘Frightful Select’, the company is quite interested in bringing her back into the fold although there has been no word on any renewed deal or something of that sort.

However, while she might or might not end up ditching Khan at all, Mone still has a soft corner for her first wrestling home (WWE) regardless.
Mercedes Mone showcased her WWE affinity ahead of rumored AEW return

Now, with the news of her potential AEW debut, it becomes the cynosure of all of our curiosity.
That said, there had also been some active talks regarding her possible WWE comeback before a report dismissed it, claiming there was a monetary disagreement between the two parties.
