2024 positioned Mercedes Mone FKA Sasha Banks as one of wrestling’s most coveted free agents. The American professional wrestler and actress was placed in the spotlight of other wrestling companies globally. And now she has wrapped up talks with All Elite Wrestling and will be a part of their roster.
Next March, AEW will hold the Big Business event in the city of Boston. This event is expected to mark the first appearance of Mercedes Mone, who is rumored to have signed with the company in recent weeks. However, it seems like she has not completely forgotten the WWE, as evident from her recent Instagram story.

Since her controversial departure from WWE, Mercedes Mone has been the talk of the town with good matches in Japan and appearances on different stages. After an injury that kept her away from the ring, her path in the Asian country would have ended and her whereabouts would be put in the focus of discussion. And now she will be a part of AEW. However, she still holds the WWE close to her heart as she recently uploaded a story on Instagram that features a toy that looks like a stuffed figure of ‘the Tribal Chief‘.
Roman Reigns is still the most important wrestler in WWE today. And he has the third-highest-selling merchandise for the company and has been in the top three for almost a year now. While the top two spots belong to Jey Uso and CM Punk. In the initial weeks of 2024, Jey Uso’s was the best-selling category, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
In terms of individual merchandising, The Best in the World is one of the names with the most outstanding items, including T-shirts and sweatshirts with their logo and garments with the phrase Hell Froze Over. Punk is located close to Jey, who achieved a good amount of sales thanks to merchandising with the onomatopoeia YEET. So while the WWE superstars are bringing in major revenue for the WWE, how is Mone expected to affect AEW?
Will Mone bring more Money?
After months of discussions during which WWE was also vying for The Boss’s return, it seemed more and more likely that Mone would wind up in All Elite Wrestling. However, several individuals, including Eric Bischoff, don’t seem to be convinced that the Boss is making the right decision but are sure that it would bring some boost in viewership.

Eric Bischoff offered his predictions for the AEW Dynamite: Big Business, which is anticipated to feature Mercedes Mone’s debut, in the most recent installment of his podcast, Strictly Business. Bischoff predicts that it will get between 875,000 and 880,000 viewers, with the possibility of an uptick because of Mone’s fanbase.
It’s important to note that in the weeks following Big Business, the NBA Playoffs will begin, an event that traditionally attracts a large number of fans due to the intensity of the games played almost daily. Both AEW and WWE are likely to experience a slight decline in their viewership during this period.
