Former United States Champion Samoa Joe hasn’t been seen in the ring for almost a year now. He has worked as a commentator on Monday Night Raw since replacing Dio Maddin last November.

Joe has been very unlucky in the past couple of years. The ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ has suffered knee, foot, and thumb injuries over the course of his WWE stint.

While many feel this might be the end of the road for Samoa Joe in terms of his in-ring career, the man himself has other views. In an interview with Taylor Wilde on Wilde On, Joe spoke about the possibilities of his return.

“As of right now, I’m just doing commentary on Raw and it’s been a fun challenge. It’s something new and I’m enjoying that. Obviously, I’m not done in the ring by no means. I’m just exploring things and see how I feel about things.

“Aside from that, doing a lot of voice acting lately and it’s fun and cool and an enjoyable thing. Some projects on the horizon, a project coming out pretty soon with Warner Bros. It’s a cool thing. I’m very fortunate and very happy that I’m doing the things I’m doing right now.”

Samoa Joe is a talent who is loved and recognized around the world. While WWE will want to keep a stronghold on their talent, someone like Joe will certainly be on the radar of rival companies.

Chris Jericho wants Samoa Joe in AEW

AEW has recruited a lot of talent from WWE. Many talents who didn’t get the creative freedom or chances tried to jump ship and AEW accepted them.

On an edition of Saturday Night Special, a fan asked Chris Jericho if he would like Samoa Joe to join AEW. Here is what The Demo God said.

“I don’t know if Joe is hurt right now or if he’s not feeling good. But I’ll tell you what man, he is just an amazing wrestler. He’s a great talker and just a hell of a guy as well. I would love to have him in AEW. But I don’t know if he wants to go.”

As of this moment, Samoa Joe is not a part of the draft list on Raw or SmackDown. If Samoa Joe returns to in-ring action, it certainly won’t be happening anytime soon.
