Vince McMahon continues to be McMahon, rising to the headlines for all the odd reasons. The infamous WWE Boss is in the process of cutting all ties after 55 years of close association with his family business, trading most of his TKO shares lately. The notion went up to an extreme after Brendan Coffey of Sportico reported that McMahon has now sold all of his remaining shares in TKO Group Holdings.

However, later another report confirmed that McMahon didn’t yet sell it all, he rather just listed the remaining stakes under the company.

Vince McMahon has let go of his chair in the Stamford-based company ahead of Royal Rumble 2024 in January amidst the unsettling allegations stirred the entire wrestling realm. The former employee, and former Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis has charged McMahon with sex trafficking allegations, leading to the 78-year-old’s permanent removal from WWE. Shortly after, Mr. McMahon started to give away his shares in the company. According to the latest report, McMahon doesn’t have any shares left with him, with the last trade of 8.02 million stocks rumored to be worth more than $776 million. That being said, the information is apparently partly true.

To clarify the news, the Sportico agent noted, “The filing makes the shares eligible for sale, but doesn’t mean they will be sold. In practice across the corporate world, such filings typically result in the sale of the listed shares shortly after,”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful further made the fact clear with a single-line tweet that reads,”Vince McMahon hasn’t sold his TKO shares yet, he’s listed them”.

Whether or not McMahon is done with being the shareholder of the TKO group, he will be, eventually, as there’s little to no chance of a Vince McMahon comeback in WWE ever. On the flip side, wrestling legend Dutch Mantell sees no new opportunity for the former WWE boss, even outside the WWE realm.

WWE veteran thinks Vince McMahon isn’t capable of running another new promotion

Mantell recently discussed whether Vince McMahon can possibly start another promotion after his WWE exit, where he blatantly claimed that it was highly unlikely.

“Nah, I don’t believe that… He may be, and I think he does it because he’s got the money to do it… But I don’t think that he would even attempt to start a new promotion, because I think he would fear the rejection of the fans. I think that means more to him than anything. People would say, ‘Ah, he’s an idiot’. He’s this, he’s that’. And I don’t think he can handle that.’‘ the WWE veteran noted.
