Ronda Rousey’s Tag Partner Reveals Her Crazy Fascination With $70B Franchise, Star Wars- “I Watched Him, Fell in Love”

Star Wars has released quite a few TV shows and movies over the years, with each slotting into an array of interconnecting sagas. Not only movies, but Star Wars books have also become equally essential to canons. However, WWE’s ‘Queen of Spades” love for the $70 billion worth franchise might not be a secret to her hardcore fans, but many of them must be unaware of the story of how she developed the fascination.

Shayna Baszler disclosed how her boundless love for Star Wars developed

Shayna Baszler is on a roll with her current WWE run, reigning as Unified WWE Woman’s Tag Team Champion alongside her teammate and friend Ronda Rousey since their monumental win on Friday Night SmackDown.

Now amid the peak of her career, the 42-year-old sat for an interview in Busted Open Podcast to shed light on the wide range of areas in her life and career.

Describing the root of her tremendous affinity for Star Wars, Baszler noted, ”My dad took me to the drive-in to see the Empire Strikes Back. I didn’t know anything about you know. I am five or however old and.. just knew that there was a scary breathing monster, and wanted to keep watching and I just don’t know,..watched him, and fell in love with him. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be in Star Wars. yeah, I have been a fan ever since. ”

The $2 million superstar even pitched the idea of her in-ring gear from the popular movie franchise.

Since joining the main roster, Baszler has been utterly experimental over her in-ring attires. ‘The Queen of Spades’ once revealed that she pulled the design inspiration for one of her gears from Star Wars.

Baszler nailed with her green and red gear last year inspired by the video game Warhammer. Being in tune with her emotions for those iconic movies, the star articulated, ”So when I look at things like that–I started reading those things when I was younger, but now I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, so if I did this…”

She did this, and it clicked remarkably well in her career.
