Ronda Rousey was undoubtedly one of the superstars who massively boosted the women’s revolution in WWE. But keeping her as the head, WWE was able to pull off an all-women PPV. 2019 was a big milestone in the history of WWE and brought women’s wrestling into view. Before this shift to wrestling, in the UFC, Rousey made a controversial comment about the payment gap between men and women in MMA. She justified the gap by explaining how it’s about bringing in more viewership. But times are changing. It’s not just her this time in WWE, but also a locker room full of talented and experienced women, and she’s going to lead them toward a better future.
Ronda Rousey shares her thoughts about upgrading the WWE women’s locker room
In her vlog series on YouTube, Ronda on the Road, Rousey opened up about her efforts to bring a change in the women’s locker room. She said, “Ever since I’ve got here, I’ve been trying to push a cultural shift of it’s not us versus each other, it’s us versus the men. Our match is competing against the men’s match, and we’re trying to show that we’re on the same level. Who cares who wins a fake fight? It’s all about us as a team, making sure our match is super f***ing awesome.”
She continued, “I want to win. If I’m going to be on a team, I’m going to be on the best f***ing team ever, and we’re going to love kicking everyone’s ass together. And if we come to a pay-per-view like Backlash and there’s only one women’s match out of six, people should be bothered by that and say something.”

With Rousey at the helm, one would expect the roster to put out brutal matches and competitions, but that isn’t happening right now.
