A new chapter in the Cody Rhodes story has officially begun. While he is on his way to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, he has another adversary, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. At the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Press Event, fans remember how hard Johnson slapped Rhodes in front of everyone. The slap has echoed all across the globe and is one of the most talked about topics in the sports entertainment industry. While fans are still talking about it, it looks like Johnson is ready to up the ante.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) The Brahma Bull shared a clip that showed how much the particular “slap” segment has been viewed on social media. Along with that, he also told fans to tune in for tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown as he will be present there along with Roman Reigns.

If word is to be trusted, the Kickoff Press Event turned out to be a social phenomenon. The event which was streamed on Peacock and all of WWE’s social media platforms was viewed by almost 4.7 million people. This makes it the most viewed WWE event outside the ring.

Apart from that, the slap segment had garnered a total of 15.7 million views in under 12 hours, making it a global phenomenon. The slap is something that no one can stop talking about and has added another twist to the already intriguing story.

For those who have been following WWE after the 2024 Royal Rumble remember that Seth Rollins was adamant on Cody Rhodes challenging him at WrestleMania 40. He stated that he has a lot of respect for The American Nightmare and considers him a worthy opponent. But since the slap, Rollins has decided to side with Rhodes.

On last week’s episode of Raw, Rollins said that he admires Rhodes and his determination to face Reigns. He also stated that he is partly responsible for making Reigns the big baddie he is now today.
