Did Roman Reigns just set the stage for the most epic WWE storyline with Cody Rhodes?

Is the Original Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns planning to challenge for the WWE Championship in the future? This is the question that the whole WWE universe has been asking since SummerSlam. Wrestling fans were on the edge of their seats as Reigns made his storied return and instantly cemented himself as a babyface due to his actions.

Roman Reigns assisted Cody Rhodes following his return, as he first targeted the phony Tribal Chief Solo Sikoa. Reigns appears to be putting the family situation first, but what happens once he finishes his rivalry with Sikoa? Reports suggest that WWE has already begun to lay the groundwork for a third match between Reigns and Rhodes since the score is tied after their previous encounters.

During the post-show conference, Rhodes claimed that the Tribal Chief deserved a rematch after such a memorable championship reign. This indicates that The Tribal Chief could deal with the faction he created first. However, once he is free, the possibility of a trilogy bout could open up potentially at WrestleMania. The previous two editions of the Show of Shows had a Reigns-Rhodes match to round it off. A third bout between the duo at a third successive WrestleMania would undoubtedly make history. Not only this, but Roman Reigns said something to the WWE Universal champion upon his return. Now we know what he really said.

Some reports have indicated that Reigns, after returning and saving Rhodes, saw The American Nightmare holding the championship. After that, it appears that the 39-year-old issued a threat to the champion. The Tribal Chief appears to have said that it’s a matter of time till he takes back what is his. This suggests that Reigns has a good possibility of challenging for the championship in the future.

Have an interesting take?

A match between two of the finest in the business should not occur at a typical PPV. This suggests that WrestleMania would be a perfect occasion for both superstars to collide. However, the upcoming edition of WrestleMania may not be the platform for this collision. WWE is presently preparing for Roman Reigns to fight The Rock at next year’s WrestleMania, and if this occurs, the bout with Cody Rhodes could be moved to 2026.

WWE has already explored its options of taking the 42nd edition of the Show of Shows to London. An iconic match at a historic venue could be on the cards. This would also build anticipation for the feud since fans have already seen the two clash in the recent past. Nevertheless, WWE fans are quite thrilled for this to happen, and it will be fascinating to watch how things play out in the future. What are your opinions on Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes part 3? What did you make of The Tribal Chief’s words at SummerSlam? Please tell us in the comments.
