Is Roman Reigns the new Undertaker, or is he carving out his own unique legacy?

WWE is all about picking up the small clues and tying them together to make a coherent storyline. The product revolves around larger-than-life scenarios’ making an enormous impact on fans’ fanatical imagination. When it comes to Bloodline, the fan-favorite heel faction currently stands atop the WWE mountain. Especially after the Big Dog’s overwhelming SummerSlam comeback, the stable’s goals are in peril. This propelled fans to speculate on the upcoming ego battle between the OG Bloodline and the new Bloodline. A symbol of authority, the Ula Fala, a traditional Samoan necklace has been the crown jewel under which the conflict takes place at the moment.

In recent weeks, we saw Roman Reigns and Sikoa feuding over the lei. For those who don’t understand the gravity behind it, Mark Henry had an elevating analysis, drawing parallels with the legendary Undertaker’s urn.

Samoan superstars wear their traditions with utter pride. Especially, Roman Reigns, more often than not, flaunts his Tribal Chief roots on TV. Apart from a host of tribal tattoos all over his body, the Head of the Table possessed and adorned the Ula Fala around his neck, denoting the official power-bearer status of the family. Ever since Solo Sikoa came to the forefront, he targeted the Ula Fala for obvious reasons.

After a lot of back and forth, last week on the blue brand, Roman Reigns was stripped off the lei by the collective force of Sikoa, Fatu, and Tama Tonga. It is very clear that the Ula Fala’s importance will be further developed in the Bloodline context. Elucidating how it makes total sense, WWE icon Mark Henry denoted the Undertaker and his legendary urn’s significance.

During the latest edition of Busted Open Radio, Henry noted, ”There was only one other item that superseded titles. Only one. You know what that is? The urn. When Taker had the urn, people wanted to take the urn because the urn had power. Taker fought for that urn. And now you have Roman, who when we first saw the Ula Fala, who was putting it around his neck? Afa and Sika. Yeah. Why would you not want something that two icons, father and uncle, put around your neck and made you the tribal chief? They bestowed that upon you. And they gave you that power. It’s going to have even more significance now that they’ve both passed.”

The mystery behind Undertaker and urn: Revisited

The Phenom has adorned a lot of layers for his character during his active WWE days. But the creepiest among all the narratives related to him was the one regarding a simple urn. Taker’s legendary manager, Paul Bearer used to raise the symbol high and made the win a sure shot for the Deadman. The belief was that the urn held the key to the Undertaker’s formidable power, making fans wonder what was inside it.

Finally, Taker’s brother Kane spilled the beans by stating that the urn carried their late parents’ ashes. While the truth behind this claim is subject to doubt, The Undertaker and the urn emerged as an electrifying fusion on WWE TV back in the ’90s and 2000s.
