Is Roman Reigns the best storyteller in WWE history, or is it just hype?

Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa are not the main attractions of the Bloodline at the time being. The real game changer is the big, red Ula Fala, the gorgeous Samoan traditional necklace that has quite become the honored symbol of the king. Reigns used to don the lei on his neck for a long, putting forward his identity as the true Samoan but it was never the centerpiece of the attention until Sikoa stole it and forced The Wiseman to place it on his neck as a sign of acknowledgment of the new Tribal Chief on June 29th episode of SmackDown.

Heyman blatantly refused to put the lei on Sikoa and paid back big time. Now that Reigns is back in his boots, the dispute continues over the same Ula Fala. But do you know that the 39-year-old is fighting for the necklace after giving it to Sikoa himself two years back on TV? Well, it is as fascinating as it sounds.

Last week on the blue brand, Sikoa called out the Original Tribal Chief, saying he had to take the Ula Fala from him if he wanted his honor back. Reigns quickly launched another pair of Superman Punch and spears at his cousin. Before he almost took Sikoa out, Tama Tonga made the safe. During the chaotic brawl, the Ula Fala fell on the stage, leading to Reigns’ pick it up in a jiffy.

Tonga noticed it and rushed to the ring to snatch it from Reigns and handed it over to his Tribal Chief (Solo Sikoa). However, there was a time when Reigns himself handed the most trusted man of his troop the magnificent Samoan ornament. Two years back on Crown Jewel, during an epic Bloodline segment, Reigns was seen giving the necklace to his Right-Hand Man without a second thought.

The clip resurfaced on X, pinpointing WWE’s focus on the long-time minute story. Recalling the incident, a WWE fan expressed their doubt over whether the Bloodline feud was planned months ago. “I wonder if Roman handing the Ula Fala to Solo after his match against Logan was planned. Now 2 years later, Roman’s fighting to get it back,” wrote the social media user while posting the clip of the incident.

Reigns, however, not only gave his Ula Fala to Sikoa, but he also named him the Tribal Heir (next Tribal Chief) without knowing he would misuse it in such a menacing way.

Reigns also named Solo Sikoa as the Tribal Heir

Roman Reigns was always been at loggerheads with The Usos and never trusted them fully to carry forward the family’s legacy. Hence, in a significant SmackDown episode, Reigns announced the Enforcer would be the next in line to take up the Tribal Chief’s responsibility. However, choosing Sikoa over the twins on the Island of Relevancy had a few feasible grounds.

Firstly, Sikoa had proved his worth and loyalty over the years being a constant source of support to Reigns and the family. Also in 2023, he worked closely with Heyman and developed a close working bond which Reigns might have thought to be a great asset in favor of his promotion in the group.

Last but not least, Reigns didn’t want another betrayal shaping up. Noticing Sikoa’s elevating power and strength, he feared that he would lose another man from his gang. So, gifting him a future leadership role seemed right to the 39-year-old at that time. It will be interesting to see finally the Ula Fala belongs to whom after all the intense fight for proprietorship.
