A victory over a champion becomes much more memorable when it breaks the winning streak of the champion. Hence, whoever defeats WWE Superstar and Universal Champion Roman Reigns next will break his winning streak after at least 1.5 years.
The last time Roman Reigns lost in WWE was against King Corbin on November 8th, 2019. Since then, he has been unstoppable.
In 2020, he took a brief hiatus from WWE because of COVID-19, and when he returned, he secured the WWE Universal Championship. Since then, he has been walking around as ‘The Tribal Chief’.

Not only did he return and immediately become the champion, but he also turned heel. WWE put him in a storyline with his cousin, Jey Uso, whom he continued to maul until Uso acknowledged him as ‘The Head of the Table’.
Since then, Roman Reigns has had brutal feuds with Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan.
Roman Reigns issued a stipulation to end Daniel Bryan’s career
Currently, Reigns is in a rivalry with Daniel Bryan. The Leader of the “Yes” Movement has been trying to secure the WWE Universal Championship title for a while now. Unfortunately, every time he comes close to it, something or the other becomes an obstacle.
Let’s begin with Elimination Chamber 2021. Daniel Bryan won the Elimination Chamber match, but as per the carefully designed stipulation, he had to immediately face Reigns. He had no time to recover. Even them, he put Roman in a Yes Lock for a few seconds before Reigns overpowered Bryan.
Next, he defeated Jey Uso in a steel cage match to become the number one contender for the Universal Championship at Fastlane 2021. Here, Edge was the special enforcer. Maybe, Bryan would have definitely defeated Reigns because he almost tapped out the champion with the Yes Lock.
Unfortunately, Edge intervened, beat them with a steel chair, and turned heel. Following this, Reigns won the match.

Finally, Daniel Bryan was put in a triple threat match with Edge and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37. Reigns put up a dominant performance. While Edge and Bryan tried to take over, Reigns stacked them and won the match via a double pin.
Now, Roman Reigns has offered Daniel Bryan another chance to challenge for the Universal Championship title at WrestleMania Backlash. If Bryan wins, he’s the new champion. If he loses, Bryan will quit SmackDown and never return. It’s a Career vs. Title match.
