Is Roman Reigns' rumored return at SummerSlam too soon, or exactly what WWE needs right now?

Roman Reigns is being increasingly tipped by the WWE universe to return at SummerSlam. Although the chances could be slim, fans have been waiting too long for his hiatus to end and the storyline is also cooking up in a way that we might see him finally show up at the PLE in August. However, WCW legend Eric Bischoff has given his opinion on the same and does not support the speculation that the former Tribal Chief could be returning soon.

The only reason why Bischoff is protective of Reigns’ arrival in WWE is because he wants the promotion to hoard his return until a later point in time. This is specifically because he believes that the wrestling industry is booming currently. Not only the Stamford-based company, but several other promotions are also cooking up something new for fans, and for a wrestling fan who follows it all, Reigns’ return might get overshadowed.

Talking about the probable SummerSlam return, Bischoff said on his podcast ’83WEEKS with Eric Bischoff’, “I hope not. It’s too soon. There’s been so much going on in WWE. First of all, just step back.” He also added, “There’s been so many moves on the chessboard since that time that it’s hard to even recognize that oh yeah he’s been gone.

After Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline takeover, it seems imminent that Roman Reigns will soon be back, anyway. Despite the former WWE employee’s perspective, WWE could choose to bring him back at the summer event in Cleveland. However, even if Reigns isn’t supposed to be back at that exact PLE, fans can still expect to see a new name pop up in The Bloodline’s storyline.

Will Roman Reigns’ former Bloodline have a new member?

The rogue Bloodline seems to be running at full capacity as of now, with the stable having a total of four members, three out of which, engage in matches. However, the Tongans could also end up getting one more of their brothers into the heel faction. Hikuleo‘s potential presence in WWE has been teased online time and again. He was previously working at NJPW but his contract there ended a few weeks ago.

Now, the wrestler has reportedly signed with WWE. This was being speculated online several weeks ago, given a few hints that were already floating around. Most of all, the biggest hint was the fact that WWE trademarked the name ‘Talla Tonga’ when the rumors of Hikuleo being WWE-bound merely started. So, now that he has been reportedly signed by the leading wrestling promotion, we can expect the third son of Haku to also join the Anoa’i family stable alongside his brothers.

If WWE wishes to make it big, he could appear in the promotion at SummerSlam this year. If not, then we have plenty of SmackDowns on which he may be able to debut. So, even if Roman Reigns does not appear at SummerSlam, there are chances that Hikuleo may be there to keep fans entertained along with the rest of the roster booked for the event.
