Is Roman Reigns the true face of WWE, or does The Rock still hold that title?

The new Bloodline has shown its true colors. Friday’s WWE SmackDown witnessed Paul Heyman receive the Samoan Spike from Solo Sikoa and then Jacob Fatu put him through the announcer’s table. Why? The Wiseman had simply refused to acknowledge The Enforcer of the Bloodline and so he had to leave the arena in an ambulance. Right after this, fans wondered if they would hear from Roman Reigns or even Dwayne Johnson.

Now, we know that The Rock’s wrestling gimmick isn’t that of a pure-hearted person either. The recent developments in the storyline could place him in a dilemma. WWE hasn’t confirmed his arrival yet. However, the speculations about him and Reigns have been quite intense.

On the Busted Open Podcast, one of the co-hosts said, “You know, of course, we know at some point, The Final Boss will resurface when the marquee and the lights are hot enough.”

“But I think all of that is kind of none of that can happen. That can’t happen until Roman, I think, comes face to face with this new bloodline of Solo [Sikoa] and probably finds out and gets a taste of how dangerous they are.”

Clearly, Roman Reigns is essential for the company to take the next step in The Bloodline’s story. So, until the Head of the Table is back in the promotion, we may witness a few repetitions in how the Anoa’i family stable operates. Moreover, The Rock had declared that he would set his sights on Cody Rhodes once he returned to the promotion. So that is something fans are waiting for.

Have an interesting take?

Sikoa is currently engaged in a feud with the Universal champion. Whether he is doing it with Dwayne Johnson’s knowledge remains to be seen. Nevertheless, The Rock will wait until the fog is clear. But Roman Reigns’ return to the promotion cements itself as the catalyst for this chain of events to transpire. So when can we expect to see The Tribal Chief return to the fold?

Why is Roman Reigns’s return taking so long?

The former WWE Undisputed Universal Champion has been on a hiatus ever since he lost his precious title at WrestleMania XL to Rhodes. Fans have been waiting for a return but haven’t gotten anything yet. WWE also kept away from such updates until Solo Sikoa revealed on SmackDown on 06/21 that his older cousin won’t be returning to the Stamford-based company at all.

Did Roman Reigns retire? That seems unlikely. This revelation appears to be kayfabe, as WWE wouldn’t reveal an official retirement so informally. It could be a part of the storyline and how it’ll shape Reigns’ ‘change of heart’ that is rumored to happen, making him a babyface.

On a previous episode of the Busted Open Podcast, Denise Salcedo talked about how Paul Heyman’s return would be a queue for Roman Reigns to show up to avenge him. So will the wrestler return to take revenge from the heel faction for beating up Heyman? We can only wait and watch. But as per rumors, the wrestler might return at SummerSlam, and that the events that will culminate in his return have already been set in place.

However, let us not forget that Reigns’ father, Sika Anoa’i, passed away on June 25. This could potentially lead to a further delayed return. But if all goes in the favor of his fans, they could see him by the end of this year. Till then, the new Bloodline might continue to wreak havoc.

What are your thoughts on Roman Reigns’ return? Do you think Dwayne Johnson might have a role to play in it?
