Can Cody Rhodes finally get his redemption at SummerSlam, or will Solo Sikoa crush his dreams?

After WrestleMania 40, Solo Sikoa reformed The Bloodline by adding members such as Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa, and removing Paul Heyman and Jimmy Uso. Sikoa has done all this with the desire to become the new ‘Tribal Chief’. Now he has challenged for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. However, before that, he dedicated a few words to his cousin, Roman Reigns.

During the previous edition of Friday Night SmackDown , Solo Sikoa addressed Roman Reigns to tell him that next week The Bloodline will win all the titles again. The ones Reigns lost when he was the champion. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga will challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championships held by Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of DIY next Friday, August 2 on Friday Night SmackDown. Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa will challenge for Cody Rhodes‘ Undisputed WWE Championship the following day at SummerSlam.

He also told Reigns that if he has a problem with it, he already knows where to find Sikoa. This has led many to speculate that the original Tribal Chief would be making his return at the biggest event of summer. A speculation that was made stronger when Rhodes’ and Sikoa’s match was announced as the main event.

So how is them being main event related to the return of Roman Reigns? Well, the perfect answer to this has been provided by two WWE legends Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray on the latest edition of Busted Open Podcast. The duo revealed that in order to get the loudest crowd pop and end the show with a bang, Sikoa’s match has been made the main event. The conversation started with Bully wondering “Oh, by the way, what if we were getting a returning Roman Reigns at SummerSlam? What should go on last?” To which Dreamer answered, “It should be Cody and Solo Sikoa.”

Bully then proceeded to explain “Because the return of Roman Reigns in front of, what, 40, 45,000 people at SummerSlam is going to be a big deal. And that’s the way you want to send the people home on that big deal high note. Because Roman, whenever Roman does return, I don’t like to make this comparison. But this is what it will be like. It will be godlike. Roman Reigns’ return to the WWE will be godlike.” Although it seems all but confirmed that the Big Dog would be returning, there’s still no internal confirmation.

Due to how The Bloodline’s storyline has been developing on television, Roman Reigns is expected to make his return to programming in the coming weeks. As he will try and bring order within the faction. However, for the moment, his presence is not yet 100% confirmed. According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, everything seems to indicate that Roman Reigns will make his return to WWE at SummerSlam 2024.

However, internally, there is no talk of his return nor has it been officially confirmed. WWE is likely trying to avoid leaks and maintain uncertainty until the event. It is highly likely that we will have to wait until the event itself to find out if Roman Reigns finally makes his return to the schedule and gets involved in a rivalry with Solo Sikoa, Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, and the newcomer, Jacob Fatu. What do you think? Will Reigns return at SummerSlam? Let us know in the comments.
