On the Road to WrestleMania, Roman Reigns is one of the biggest superstars on the card for WWE. While WWE is setting up for WrestleMania, they are also planning for expansion on a global scale. WWE’s plans with Reigns have been revealed. However, it is not a happy one for WWE fans across the globe as WrestleMania 40 will be his second bout.

Roman Reigns not to appear in foreign PLEs of WWE

Renowned Wrestling Journalist Dave Meltzer spoke on Wrestling Observer Radio this week where he revealed that The Tribal Chief won’t be available for the Elimination Chamber, slated to be held at Optus Stadium, Perth, Australia in February. He said, “Roman Reigns is not on the Australia show. He’s not on the Paris show Backlash either by the way, for fans over there.

It is a setback for WWE fans in Australia as the top WWE superstar won’t be available for one of their top shows in Australia. The other show in reference is Backlash PLE, which will be held at Lyon commune of Décines-Charpieu on May 4th. This will be WWE’s first PPV in France and WWE’s first Backlash outside of North America.

Despite the absence of Roman Reigns, the Australia show is stacked up with superstars like Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, and Seth Rollins. The Rock’s presence in the show will be an icing on the cake. However, Reigns’ absence from the shows is indeed a concern, considering the two shows are WWE’s gateways to their vision of expanding WWE’s business globally. And Reigns, being their top main roster superstar, is expected to show up and carry the mantle.

However, Reigns’ contract and the storyline build-up protects him from the rants of fans. He has been working a part-time schedule for over two years now, that too as the Undisputed Champion. So, WWE fans are used to his absence and long hiatus. But Reigns’ is not at all gone as he will be working big matches till WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer reveals WWE’s plans for Roman Reigns

While speaking on Reigns’ availability till WrestleMania, Meltzer said, “Romans gonna be wrestling at the Royal Rumble and then his next big match… He could do a TV match but he’s gonna wrestle at the Royal Rumble and then his next match is gonna be his WrestleMania match. After that, I would presume it’s gonna be Saudi and SummerSlam.

It is not surprising given that WWE is building up The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Night 2. But Reigns is available for storyline buildup and hence will appear on regular TV shows. He may do a TV match in between, but it would only be for buildup.
