Is WWE mishandling Roman Reigns' storyline, or are they setting up something epic for his return?

The WWE Universe is anticipating the return date of the original Tribal Chief. Especially in light of Solo Sikoa’s attack on Paul Heyman and his claim to be the new Tribal Chief. With Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu as his new henchmen, Sikoa has created a revamped faction and is awaiting the return of his cousin to finally acknowledge him. Numerous reports stated that the Big Dog is almost certain to make a WWE comeback. Roman Reigns was supposed to return to WWE a few weeks before the much-awaited PPV SummerSlam.

Now that we’re in that time range, everything suggests that Roman Reigns will return at some point during SummerSlam if not sooner. However, a WWE veteran believes otherwise. In his latest appearance on the Busted Open Podcast, ECW legend Tommy Dreamer shared his thoughts on the ongoing Bloodline storyline and revealed his theory on the return of Roman Reigns.

According to the veteran, Cody Rhodes will retain his championship against Solo Sikoa. However, he would later be assaulted by the faction. As for Reigns, he might mark his return around Survival Series rather than SummerSlam. In the process, he could help Rhodes survive an attack against Sikoa, turning babyface and marking an end to their rivalry. Possibly creating a new partnership.

He said, “If I’m looking at the future, I’m looking at we’re going to have a solo versus Cody Rhodes match, which will be a good match. I keep the title on Cody because the Bloodline is for Roman’s return. I probably would have Cody win, have Cody get his a*s kicked, and then hit Roman Reigns’ music at Survivor Series. Here comes Roman Reigns. And whoa, because one feud is now kind of order over. And we’ve wanted everything with Roman and the Bloodline to happen. Then I could move on to Randy and Cody, or also think about Roman needing the help of Cody Rhodes.”

This truly can be a great story, as even Rhodes would want a piece of the Bloodline 2.0. Especially after what took place in the latest edition of SmackDown, which turned into a torture fest for the Universal Champion. Getting to watch his mentor and best friend get thrashed right in front of his very eyes. While he stood there, helpless and tied up.

Solo Sikoa makes it personal for Rhodes

Solo Sikoa returned to SmackDown last weekend after winning WWE Money in the Bank and revealed that he’s aiming for the WWE Undisputed Championship. The new Tribal Chief reminded the crowd of what happens to those who don’t recognize him, such as Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman. Sikoa then demanded the presence of the Universal Champion Cody Rhodes.

The American Nightmare stood up to the faction and promised a title match at WWE SummerSlam. However, Cody also hinted that they could fight that same night, prompting his enemies to surround him. Rhodes launched the first attack on Solo, provoking an immediate response from Bloodline. Randy Orton, who had previously guaranteed his unconditional support to Rhodes, joined in on the fight. However, he was unable to overcome his enemies.

Sikoa and Fatu tangled Rhodes in the ropes, forcing him to watch the champion as the faction tore apart his friend and mentor at ringside. Orton was attacked with metal ladders before receiving a shower of superkicks from Fatu, who finished off “The Viper” with a triple powerbomb on the commentary table. This has surely created major hype for the fight and made it a personal battle for the Universal Champion! What do you think? Will Rhodes team up with Reigns against the Bloodline?
