Roman Reigns pulling a Brock Lesnar—Is this good or bad for WWE's future?

Roman Reigns is set to return from his break to WWE, and the hype around his return is palpable. Everyone wants to know what will happen when he returns and how WWE will employ him as a part-timer in the future. As you all know, Reigns will not be wrestling much, but his supporters are hungry for his involvement in the Bloodline story the promotion has ushered in.

This topic was recently discussed on the podcast Insights with Chris Van Vliet, where the influential figure suggested that WWE’s plans for a part-timer Roman Reigns could be similar to Brock Lesnar’s. Lesnar hasn’t been seen in the WWE for some time now owing to the legal complications involving Vince McMahon. However, even when he appeared in WWE programming, it was limited to a few appearances. The Beast usually engaged in a few blockbuster rivalries that would result in four to five matches per year. The Tribal Chief may follow a similar trajectory soon.

Since Reigns would play a part in a few matches, the buzz surrounding his matchups will be inconceivable. Fans can also expect five-star performances for his final few matches in the squared circle. Not only that but every appearance by Reigns from here on will be limited to a storyline and would feel far more impactful.

In the podcast, Chris Van Vliet stated, “I also think it benefits the fans because just like the Brock Lesnar situation, when Roman Reigns shows up, it’s meaningful. When Roman Reigns shows up, it means something in the same way that when Brock Lesnar would show up or Brock Lesnar would have a match, it meant something. These aren’t just throw away matches. If he’s only going to wrestle five times a year, my goodness, you better be there when those matches happen.”

Nevertheless, for all these to materialize, The Tribal Chief has to make his return soon. SummerSlam was the mooted date but it looks like his return could be further delayed.

Is Roman Reigns’ return going to be pushed back?

The WWE Universe is expecting the true Head of The Table to return at this year’s SummerSlam, but this may not be the case. WWE has worked hard to prepare for SummerSlam, and there will be several huge wrestling moments on the show, maybe including Reigns’ comeback, which may be a little too big and much for the event.

Thus, WWE can pull off the unfathomable and have Reigns return to Raw after SummerSlam. This approach might be interesting, and it could increase the viewership of Monday Night Raw. Reigns has a mighty task in his hands if he wishes to go against the faction he created. For that, he will have to recruit allies. Sami Zayn and Jey Uso emerge as the most notable names on his list. However, Reigns will have to make amends first, and a detour to Monday Night Raw could be what it takes to fulfill his goal. What are your views on Roman Reigns emulating Brock Lesnar in the future?
