The Anoa’i family is considered royalty when it comes to pro wrestling. Over the years, many stars from the family have joined WWE and other promotions, and have proved themselves to be champions or dominant stars. The best example is that of Roman Reigns who has been crowned as the Undisputed WWE champion and has been sitting on the throne for more than 1200 days.
However, despite how formidable these stars are, there is always someone who proved that they can take on a Samoan. Drew McIntyre, who happens to be the latest fan-favorite heel has cost a cousin of Roman Reigns his debut match. The surprise attack was so intense that the star was unable to breathe for a while.

In his latest appearance, Samoan star Lance Anoa’i revealed a moment from his debut match when he suffered an injury at the hands of the Scottish Psychopath. The 32-year-old star recounted the moment from his debut match at Raw in 2019 against Shane McMahon. In an interview with Muscle Man Malcolm, he stated, “It knocked the wind out of me. It was tough to breathe.”

During the bout, McIntyre pulled Anoa’i out of the ring by grabbing his leg and then slammed him first on the ring apron and then on the stairs. While the attack was brutal, Anoa’i did not sustain any major injuries. He concluded the incident by saying that it was a golden opportunity for him and he did not want to stop despite being unable to breathe.
Anoa’i’s WWE career was short-lived. He made his entry into the Stamford-based promotion back in 2015 and it mostly consisted of try-outs. His last match was against McMahon where he made his television debut. However, he ended up losing all of his try-out matches.

However, this was not the only time the two shared the ring.
The Scottish star keeps messing with the wrong family
Back in February this year, Jey Uso failed to win the Intercontinental Championship title from Gunther, and the credit goes to his brother Jimmy Uso. Due to this, McIntyre decided to taunt the Main Event star in his usual heel style. This resulted in an official match between the two. While he ended up winning the bout on March 4, 2024, he did receive a message from his old rival.
