Taking into account the viewership, a ranking of the best 5 wrestling segments for 2023 was released. But at the top of that list was Roman Reigns, our ‘Tribal Chief.’ In addition, he managed to outperform Dwayne Johnson in that regard.

Dwayne Johnson was not able to surpass Roman Reigns

As per the recent stats on X, the current universal champion was able to secure the top 2 spot, which is indeed an astounding feat. Because of his tribal court segment, Reigns was able to draw big numbers for the company. It took most of the first hour of the July 7 episode of The Blue Brand and was able to bag almost 3.07 million viewers.

His thousand-day Universal Champion Celebration segment was the one to secure second place on the list. But let’s shift our attention to Dwayne Johnson’s return. The ‘Black Adam’ star suddenly appeared on a show of Smackdown to shock the world; even though it broke multiple records on X, it was not able to surpass Roman Reigns in TV ratings. His return almost gained 2,803,000 views and was the 4th on the list. Just to let you know, numbers 3 and 5 were secured by The Tribute to Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk segment and The Trial of Sami Zayn, which was again based on Reigns.

The Tribal Court was indeed an intense segment to watch

After an impressive unpinned streak in the company, Reigns suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of brothers Jimmy and Jey, The Usos, in a tag team match at Money in the Bank. After that, the fans surely wanted to know what the future of Bloodline could be after that explosive civil war in London.

Then he held the tribal court on SmackDown, where Roman Reigns pretended that he was leaving the spot of the tribal chief and was handing it over to Jey. He did, in fact, bend on his knees to pay homage to Jey. When Jey thought Reigns had changed, he witnessed a low blow out of nowhere, and then the fans knew what the real intentions of Reigns were. The segment also showed the real tensions between the brothers as Reigns and Sikoa bulldozed the Usos following that segment. Sikoa even performed a splash over Jimmy when he was lying over the announcer’s table.
