Roderick Strong defeats Kushida for the NXT Cruiserweight title
Finally this week, Kushida got his match with Roderick Strong. However, it seemed to be a 5 on 1 match rather than a 1 on 1 match as there were numerous distractions by the members of The Diamond Mine. This match was for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.
Strong looked for a quick start but Kushida did not allow him to gain momentum . The two superstars went back and forth at each other, countering each other’s moves constantly.
As the match progressed, Kushida got the Hoverboard Lock locked in on Strong. It seemed like the ‘Time Splitter’ will retain the title, but Malcolm Bivens somehow managed to put Strong’s foot on the ropes to break the hold.

Soon after this, the rest of The Diamond Mine also got involved. Malcolm Bivens distracted the referee as he tried to get in the ring. Taking advantage of this, the other members of The Diamond Mine attacked Kushida by pulling him out of the ring, and then again sending him back in the ring. Roderick Strong then hit his finisher ‘End of Heartache’ on Kushida to pick up the victory.
After the match, we saw Grayson Waller walk out and challenge Roderick Strong for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship next week. Strong accepted it and seems to be ready for the challenge next week.
