On Sunday, one of WWE’s former referees, Tim White, passed away at the age of 68. White, in his referee career, has been a part of multiple grand matches and was active in some of the storylines actively.

WWE broke the news on Sunday and shared the same on Twitter. The tweet said, “WWE is saddened to learn that long-time referee Tim White has passed away. WWE extends our condolences to White’s family, friends and fans.”

Further, WWE, on their website, described Tim White’s career. “For more than two decades, Tim White was a dedicated WWE referee and official. White began his illustrious career in 1985 working with Andre the Giant and as a part-time referee.”

“During his tenure, he was the referee for some of WWE’s biggest matches, including the infamous Hell in a Cell Match between Undertaker and Mankind at King of the Ring 1998.”

Moreover, WWE added, “A shoulder injury effectively ended White’s in-ring career, but White still remained a major part of WWE working behind the scenes as an official and talent agent until 2009.”

WWE superstars condole on Twitter on the demise of Tim White

Tim White was one of the popular and humble referees in WWE. He wasn’t just well-known among the WWE superstars, but also a popular personality between the fans.

After the news of White passing away, multiple WWE superstars shared their condolences on Twitter. The superstars list included multiple legends and also many current stars.

Tim White was one of the most loved persons in WWE by the superstars and the officials backstage. White is a familiar name because of his proximity to so many legendary moments. Also, they often tabbed him with officiating marquee battles inside the squared circle.

White had to scale back his in-ring duties after suffering a shoulder injury at the Judgment Day pay-per-view during a Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and Chris Jericho. However, WWE released White on January 9, 2009, ending his 24-year tenure with the company.

White provided security for WWE superstars during appearances and autograph signings, the reason why many WWE superstars have posted pictures with him at signings. On April 10, 2018, White appeared in numerous interviews in the HBO documentary André the Giant. He also appeared on WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures in June 2021. Rest in Peace, legend.
