Ricochet could draw curtains on his WWE career as he ponders a switch to pastures anew. The aerial wrestler has not renewed his contract with the leading wrestling promotion despite reports suggesting its expiry in July. The last time we saw him in action was on June 10th in a backstage promo with Bron Breakker. Breakker delivered a vicious beatdown on Ricochet, catching him off-guard and delivering a kayfabe injury in the process.

A hiatus ensued with reports suggesting that his WWE career has come to an end while others suggest the possibility of one final appearance in the future. Nevertheless, the uncertainty surrounding his WWE future has prompted fans to suggest that the wrestler could make the switch to AEW. The former WWE Intercontinental champion indulged in a personal joy with prominent AEW personnel.

There have been various hints at the possibility of the wrestling talent leaving WWE. The first sign that fans caught on was the time when the Stamford-based company tweeted about Ricochet’s kayfabe injury, claiming that he wouldn’t be back from the hiatus until further notice. This led fans to believe that this could be a sign that we could see him sign with Tony Khan after his contract has expired. On 20th June, former WWE star Shelton Benjamin took to Instagram to upload a story playing Tekken 8 on his screen. He has tagged a bunch of wrestling names, including Samoa Joe and Ricochet. This means that they could be getting along well before potentially working together.

Among the rest of the wrestling names, we can also see Jey Uso. This shows us that Ricochet wasn’t the only WWE star there. So, this alone may not be enough to suggest evidence supporting Ricochet’s potential move to AEW.

However, other reasons have been stated in different podcasts before, suggesting why he could move away.

What will be Ricochet’s driving factor in this decision?

One of the major factors that a wrestler considers before making the jump is observing the money that he or she is being offered. Although every talent has a different priority, money can influence the biggest of decisions. In that case, Tony Khan may have an upper hand in the bidding war because of what he reportedly offers to other stars. Apart from this, fans also thought that Ricochet wouldn’t leave the promotion because of his fiance, but the pro wrestling industry has witnessed many couples working in different companies over the years, making it possible for them to manage the same.

In a discussion on his X timeline, Dave Meltzer talked about the same scenario. He shed light on the fact that Ricochet can make good money in several places. Because of his work, he is going to have alternatives that will offer him good money. However, it all comes down to the place he will remain the most content with.

Now that we see him bond with Samoa Joe during gaming sessions, could it be a foreshadowing of Ricochet’s move to AEW? Let us know in the comments section below.
