Amazon’s Prime Video recently dropped the trailer and release date for an upcoming movie Ricky Stanicky. The drama-comedy film will feature Cena as the titular character ‘Ricky Stanicky’ in an interestingly hilarious plot.

John Cena plays the role of an unlucky actor

The rights for Ricky Stanicky have been bought by Amazon. This means that the global streaming rights to the upcoming movie will also go to the streaming giant. The OTT release of the movie worldwide is set to be on 7th March 2024.

In a recent tweet, Prime Video posted the complete trailer of the upcoming comedic drama with a caption giving a glimpse of the main plot. The post’s caption reads, “The man, the myth, the…lie. Meet Ricky Stanicky on March 7.”

The trailer shows the lives of three childhood friends, played by Zac Efron, Andrew Santino, and Jermaine Fowler, who continuously use their imaginary friend ‘Ricky Stanicky’ to escape their ordinary lives. After many years, their secret gets compromised, endangering their marriage and personal relationships, causing them to hire an actor to play the role of their imaginary friend. This versatile ‘lonely’ actor is played by John Cena. The rest of the video shows how chaotic the movie will get with such a talented cast on board. Fans who like a blend of comedy and John Cena together will be delighted to catch this movie on their screens.

There were also leaked set pictures of the movie where Cena was seen ‘cross-dressing’ in a short skirt and heels. This will further hype fans to see what the wrestler has in store for them.

A few weeks ago, John Cena took to Twitter to upload a poster and announce the release date for his upcoming film, Argylle. It is an upcoming ‘spy’ movie with a spectacular cast starring Henry Cavill. “The Cenation Leader” also seems to have a significant role in the movie.
