WrestleMania is over and the results are in. Most wrestling fans felt it was a massive success, apart from a few missteps by WWE. Recently, Ric Flair expressed how WWE made a mistake by snubbing his daughter and Rhea Ripley from main eventing on Night One. More recently, the 16-time world champion has rubbed his own set of fans the wrong way, with a recent comparison. Fans understand that ‘The Nature Boy’ obviously loves his daughter, but felt that this statement made him look extremely biased.
Ric Flair puts the Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair match-up on a high pedestal
In a recent Tweet, Ric Flair posted highlights of his daughter, Charlotte Flair WrestleMania 39 match against Rhea Ripley. The WWE veteran was proud of the match-up and picked it as being the best match of the night. Snubbing Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs The Usos, which was the main event.

However, Flair took things to the next level the “epic” battle between Flair and Ripley was better than the legendary match-ups between him and his storied rival Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat in the 1980s in NWA. A lot of fans felt this was a biased view from Flair putting his daughter’s match on a very high pedestal.
Fans wrote in the comments:
Settle down Ric. It was alright but it didn’t steal the show my man. We know you’re proud of your daughter but don’t make foolish statements.

LOL, Ric is day drinking again. It was a pretty good match but better than (all) mens and Ric/Steamboat? Come on.

Many fans felt that Ric Flair was half right, in his statement.
It was excellent, and I love them both, but I wouldn't go that far.

Great match for sure….. but come on Ric, not even close to you and Steamboat….. I saw both and know better

wasn't better than your steamboat match

However, some fans agreed that it was an excellent match, but not as good as the main event.
I disagree on outperforming. The main event was the performance of the night.

Also, others noted that the 16-time world champion stated this out of a bias toward his daughter.
A biased opinion doesn't mean anything

Most fans felt that the 74-year-old should avoid bringing up his iconic matches to compare. Still the SmackDown Women’s Championship match was one of the highlights of the entire WrestleMania weekend.
While Flair praised his daughter, he even gave due credit to the challenger for making it happen.
The Nature Boy paid a huge compliment to Rhea Ripley’s resilience
During a recent episode of ‘To Be The Man’, Ric Flair shared how Rhea Ripley earned his respect. During the match, the two ladies gave it their all for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

However, Ripley edged out ‘the Queen’ and won the match. ‘Nature Boy’ said, “She’s fine she’s got a little bruise on her nose and a black eye” and added “I’ll tell you my hat’s off to Rhea Ripley. She let Ashley hit her as hard as I used to hit Steamboat and that’s what makes it real.”
Therefore, Ric Flair couldn’t stop noticing similarities between the recent match and his battles against Ricky Steamboat, back in the day. However, fans think being a father, his opinion is inclined to favor his daughter.
