The latest episode of WWE SmackDown was set to build up the Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles feud. Style faked his retirement during last week’s episode and took out Rhodes. This feud comes after Rhodes picked up the win over The Phenomenal One at WWE Backlash: France. However, during the segment backstage, fans noticed a familiar face: Ric Flair.

The WWE Universe was shocked to see The Nature Boy, who is currently signed with AEW. While it was not Flair in person, it was his likeness. Flair moved to AEW to aid Sting in his retirement run in the company. While that is over, he is still signed with AEW.

During the backstage segment, Rhodes hunted for Styles and walked past a trailer with Flair’s face on it. While it makes sense that Flair is an icon in the WWE, his current work with AEW should have prevented his involvement with the WWE. His WOO Energy Drink is also a sponsor for the rival competition.

This could have been done during the promotion of the WrestleMania XL show, which celebrated the 40 years of Mania, during which Flair played a vital part. The image does look like something that was used during the promotion for Mania. However, leave it to fans to break it down.

Taking to social media, fans were quick to resolve the issue. It was indeed one of the promotional trailers. The same thing took place before Mania when fans saw Brock Lesnar‘s face on one of the trailers and speculated he was set to make his return. While WWE does hide certain items as Easter eggs, this was not one of them. But wait, isn’t his daughter Charlotte set to make her return?

Could Ric Flair return to the WWE with Charlotte?

While many fans tried to understand whether Flair would be showing up, some sat down and connected the dots. Flair has been out since her match with Asuka on the December 8 episode of SmackDown in 2023. While her recovery is going great, she is currently shooting an indie horror movie. There is a chance that Flair may show up around Clash at the Castle: Scotland or after.

While he is currently signed with AEW, Flair has nothing to do with the company. With Sting retiring at AEW Revolution, Flair has not been seen on the program. There could be a chance that the Dirtiest Player in the Game graces WWE with his presence for one last time. What do you think? Will Flair ever be seen in the WWE again? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
