Will Charlotte Flair's return at SummerSlam be the game-changer WWE needs right now?

WWE Universe has not been the same for the past few years, with a lot of bigwigs’ absence in the house. While Seth Rollins and Rhea Ripley have already dipped their feet back into the lore with a loud pop, another big name is standing on the horizon to follow suit. The name in question is no other than the Queen, Charlotte Flair. Flair, 38, suffered a horrible knee injury last year during a one-on-one match against Asuka on Friday Night SmackDown.

Ever since the WWE ring didn’t get a piece of the Nature Girl. Keeping us in the tarry for a long, Flair finally dropped a relaxing update on her injury a few days back. While the details plunged fans into believing that the 14-time Women’s SmackDown champion is on her way to coming back, the timeline might not be as early as we expect as Rick Flair said in a recent interview.

A few days back, Charlotte Flair shared a video of herself where she was seen doing some power exercises at the gym. Her eyes depicted the acute pain she felt during the process, but it was all worth it, as she revealed that she had to take up the 40 percent or less deficit for strength compared to her non-surgical leg and had to take up 20 percent or less quad strength, indicating the clear sign of a good recovery.

The speculation unsurprisingly became rife that the Queen might return somewhere around SummerSlam in August, which is less than her previously estimated recovery time. To clarify that hope, Ric Flair, during a recent episode of the Busted Open Radio, noted, “The Queen will be back, who knows when, but she’s progressing and I don’t have a time frame. I don’t talk to her about much about that, but she’ll be back and I mean, it’s just a different time.'”

Charlotte Flair to turn heel?

Flair has achieved every bit of success as a face. After being signed by WWE 12 years back, The Nature Girl quickly rose into the ranks of a high-value performer. Eventually, she became a cornerstone of WWE with several Raw and SmackDown championships to her name. She carried the female division almost single-handedly as the biggest face of the promotion.

The question, however, automatically begs at this point: What’s next? It seems she is done being a baby face and might join her husband Andrade to form a heel tag team. Also, it will perfectly enable her to build up some grudge matches with past opponents, delivering a lot of chills down the spine. Charlotte Flair returning as a heel to defend her spot from the obvious successor is going to make some great storylines.
