The internet has been filled with rumors that Vince McMahon was looking to sell WWE after his return to the company. However, no update has come from the man himself regarding this. McMahon has undoubtedly worked hard to uplift the promotion and wrestling in general. After his return earlier this year, he did mention it was important that he was part of the board to facilitate a sale or new TV rights deal.

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair holds his share of thoughts regarding the case. Although WWE was up on the market, there was no reported buying despite the company’s success. Flair recently shed some light on this while talking on his podcast.

Ric Flair was asked by his podcast companion, Conrad Thompson “do you think WWE could actually be sold this year?” Considering all the rumors and past reports, Flair answered very honestly, “no. I don’t think Vince McMahon, as long as he’s alive, will ever.” While this is an opinion that Flair holds, he further explains how McMahon actually avoided WWE getting bought from the market.

I’ve heard a number, and I heard he made it, raised it out of the box. I don’t think he’s in desire,” explained The Nature Boy. He explained that to avoid getting his company bought by somebody else, he had to play it some other way around. McMahon eventually raised the price too high than what was originally mentioned. This made all the buyers sweat and rethink their decisions to buy the company.
