Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan are two living legends in the world of professional wrestling. The level of success they had achieved during their professional wrestling career is astonishing. Both Flair and Hogan also wrestled against each other on several occasions.

Both of them wrestled all around the globe in several wrestling promotions, including Jim Crockett Promotions (World Championship Wrestling), NWA, WWE, and Impact Wrestling.

Recently, during an episode of the Ric Flair WOOOOO Nation Uncensored Podcast, Ric Flair talked about Hulk Hogan getting hostile reactions in the South.

The WWE Hall of Famer said, “Hulk was not well received in the South. They accepted us for what we were and to them, NWA was wrestling, it wasn’t WWF at that time, and we had to put soundtracks in to bring Hulk to TV.”

In the southern style of professional wrestling (Rasslin’), the emphasis is on kayfabe, stiffness, and work-rate of the wrestlers. There are less squash matches and long feuds.

Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair fought each other four times during the Hulkamania tour

In 2009, Hulk Hogan started the Hulkamania: Let the Battle Begin tour in Australia. The shows took place on four days- November 21, November 24, November 26, and November 28. The main event of all the four shows took place between Flair and Hogan.

The first battle took place at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. And Hulk Hogan came out victoriously on that night.

The second battle between the two WWE legends was a No Disqualification match. The battle took place at the Burswood Dome in Perth. And once again, Hogan got the better of Ric Flair.

Hogan again registered a win over Flair at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane. And in their last battle during the tour, Hogan recorded another win over Ric Flair at the Acer Arena in Sydney.
