Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair recently appeared on NWA 73 pay-per-view event in St. Louis. There he shed light on various aspects of his almost 40 years long career.
He looked back when Nitro closed down. In the last match, he and Sting both gave out their best as the marquee players of the promotions. Before WCW, Flair made his name as the 10-time NWA World Champion and even wrestled in Japan.
Following WCW, Flair was in talks with WWE (then WWF). Although Vince wanted Flair to wrestle for WWE, the ‘Nature Boy’ declined. Then he did not hear from WWE for over a year.

“My life was over because I knew I had gone out far west than what I had come in as,” Flair recalled. “Then Vince called, and he said, ‘You’ll never have to wrestle. More than six months later, he had me wrestling!'” McMahon gave Flair a new role of the co-owner of the WWE following the “WCW/ECW Invasion” angle.
However, in less than six months, Flair had a match against Vince McMahon over the ownership of WWE. He defeated McMahon in a street fight match at Royal Rumble 2002. Then Triple H proposed the idea of Flair vs The Undertaker.
“I’m scared to death,” Flair confessed. “Taker right here (said), “Can you make it this time, kid?’ and yes, we did. Thank you Taker. Thank you, Hunter, Shawn (Michaels).”

Ric Flair on who will break his world championship record
Flair is a man of many talents. But his greatest feat is winning the most title in pro wrestling history. He and John Cena are currently tied with 16 world titles.
While thanking everyone, Flair gave a shout-out to Randy Orton and his father, Bob Orton. “I wanted Randy [Orton] to break my record until The Queen [Charlotte] went 12. Here’s to the queen,” Flair said.

Charlotte is currently a 12-time Women’s Champion while Orton stands with 14 World title reigns. They are both on the RAW roster where Flair holds the RAW Women’s title and Randy is the 1/2 of the RAW Tag Team champions.
After this, Ric thanked his family for living “the nightmare of having the NWA World Champion as the father.” He also thanked NWA President Billy Corgan for inviting him to the PPV.
This was Flair’s first public address after he voluntarily left WWE last month. It was indeed an emotional ride for Flair. Let us know what you thought in the comments below.
