After Dominik Mysterio attacked his own father at last year’s Clash at the Castle, he transformed into an entirely different character on-screen. Joining The Judgement Day was a drastic change from his image before. Under the guidance of former champions like Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley, Dominik developed a character of his own, growing out of his father’s shadow.

Since then, not only has Dominik showcased his heel side, but went overboard with garnering hate from the fans. Fans love to hate Dominik and in wrestling, if you can get the audience to react to you, you’re doing your job perfectly. But what do his fellow stablemates think about the guy?

On WWE’s The Bump, one fan asked Ripley how would Dominik get his father’s attention. She said, “I feel like he’s getting under Rey’s skin each and every week. I’m so proud of how far he’s come as a human and as a man. He’s really stepping into the person he’s supposed to be. He’s out of his father’s shadow and I think Rey is upset about that fact. I think Rey wants to keep Dom as his child to protect him.

Then she continued to say that Dominik wants his father to face him, and when Rey will fight back, it’ll be exciting. It seems like the fans agree as whenever the father-son pair appear on TV, every chant yells out to Rey, hitting his son. As WrestleMania 39 comes closer, Rey and Dominik’s fight will cap off the storyline in the best way possible.

But how did we come to this? Just two years ago, Dominik debuted, trying to save his father from the Messiah Seth Rollins. He was taking the beating of a lifetime on his father’s behalf and here is the same guy trying to get under Rey’s skin.

Associating with Ripley and Balor’s faction saw Dominik going overboard with hating his father in this storyline. A few months ago, Dominik not only crashed his own father’s Thanksgiving Day celebration but also Christmas Eve. He even went to ‘jail’ leading to the birth of the ‘Prison Dom’ another exciting layer in his character development.

Even when Rey went to SmackDown to get away from his own son, Dominik chased him. These past weeks, Dominik follows his father wherever he goes and fans hope that the father and son get to finish their story at the Showcase of the Immortals.
