Moreover, the power couple of the world of pro wrestling must be sitting in seventh heaven as they receive an unbridled amount of love and appreciation from their fans and peers. However, WWE veteran Vince Russo isn’t impressed at the attention the event has garnered.

Former WWE writer called out Rhea Ripley for not being a professional

Rhea Ripley has cemented her status as the kayfabe sweetheart of Dominik Mysterio. Due to this fans find it difficult to relate to her real love life. But Mami has kept them grounded, giving a glimpse of her wholesome chemistry with her husband Buddy Mathews occasionally on social media. After nearly two years of dating, the duo made it their union permanent on June 23rd. And the spotlight on them continues to illuminate them to date, something that didn’t sit well with Vince Russo. During a recent interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, the veteran was asked if he thinks that the wedding puffery derails the momentum of the current in-ring storyline brewing between Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, and Liv Morgan. What he said in response was outright eye-opening. Russo spurned, saying, ”Well, you know, bro, I just asked the question why, like just why the WWE is investing so much money in her. Like, why are you doing that?”

Later, explaining what should be WWE’s ideal treatment to that, he went on, ”I think they’re going to try to ignore that any of that ever happened. I think so. Yeah, I think so. I don’t think they’re going to shine a light on that. ”

However, this is not the only time the ex-head writer threw sheds at Ripley’s WWE antics.

Vince Russo criticized Ripley for her character work

The Eradicator got very few critiques to shed light on her shadows. While the majority of veterans and fans seem blown away by the 27-year-old’s exceptional talent and in-ring work, Vince Russo once frowned at how she acts on TV. Back in December 2023, Judgement Day members Finn Balor and Damian Priest locked horns with the Creed brothers for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. During the buildup of that high-stakes match, Russo found major flaws in Ripley’s acting. He showed utter disdain at how a 5’2 woman played all dominant to frighten her own stablemates.
