Rhea Ripley Couldn’t Hide Her Emotions as She Congratulated Rey Mysterio’s Daughter for Surpassing a ‘Difficult’ Challenge

It is safe to say that Rhea Ripley’s career in the WWE skyrocketed after she joined The Judgment Day in May 2022. The Australian pro wrestler soon started a feud with Rey and Dominik Mysterio. And while Dominik later betrayed his father, Rey Mysterio, to join forces with Ripley, she has been a constant thorn in the WWE Hall of Famer’s side. So much so, that private family gatherings were also not spared by Ripley to take a shot at Rey Mysterio and the rest of his family, sans Dominik. But the 26-year-old has finally broken her kayfabe to celebrate Mysterio’s daughter, who has also been targeted by Mami and her group in the recent past.

Ripley has proven to be vicious in her attempts to be the top star in the Women’s division. But Mami occasionally flaunts her softer side as evidenced by her heartwarming action regarding Aalyah Mysterio.

Rhea Ripley responds as Rey Mysterio uploads heartfelt post about daughter

It was a proud moment for Rey as his daughter Aalyah turned 22. ‘The Biggest Little Man’ took to Instagram to pen an emotional message to ring on his daughter’s special day.

“I thank God for another year of your life filled with blessings, health, happiness and l❤️ve,” Mysterio wrote. “I understand these past 2yrs have been really difficult but your perseverance and determination to adjust & grow have been intact,” the father noted.

Needless to say, the post attracted likes and comments from many, including some of Rey Mysterio’s peers. Quite surprisingly, Rhea Ripley was one among the 175,585 people who liked the post.

This is a considerable change in behavior from the current WWE Women’s World Champion. She has, in the recent past, subjected Mysterio and his family to humiliation on WWE programming.

Interestingly, Aalyah was cast as the love interest of a former WWE wrestler who has ties with Rhea Ripley. During his time with the Stamford-based promotion, Buddy Matthews was in an on-screen relationship with Rey Mysterio’s daughter, much to her father’s dismay.

In real life, Rhea Ripley is engaged to Matthews, who currently plies his trade in the AEW. The couple announced their engagement earlier in August. Ripley, on the other hand, got her revenge, as she is now in a storyline with Dominik Mysterio as his love interest.

Not so surprisingly, this relationship too hasn’t received the nod from Rey Mysterio. And it looks like he still holds grudges.

Rey Mysterio shuns son Dominik yet again

It all started at WWE Clash at the Castle on September 3, 2022. Dominik turned heel by betraying The Master of the 619 and subsequently leaving the latter high and dry by aligning himself with The Judgment Day. While his father tried to get Dominik Mysterio out of the group, his efforts have been in vain.

Despite receiving a public spanking at WrestleMania 39, Dom Dom hasn’t relented, and the relationship has remained strained on TV. Rey Mysterio’s recent actions suggest he isn’t ready to forgive his son anytime soon, while keeping alive kayfabe.

While Ripley’s latest move indicates that a change in approach towards Rey Mysterio from The Judgment Day could take place, the current United States Champion surely is in no mood to entertain it. He made it clear by shunning his son from the post.

Rey Mysterio’s post about his daughter’s birthday also consisted of 10 photographs. The set featured Rey, Aalyah, and his wife Angie, but did not include Dominik. This isn’t likely a father forgetting it, rather it’s more likely that he left out the revolting son on purpose. And despite that, the post received a like from Dom Dom’s Mami.

Is the tide changing? Fans will have to wait for the twist if there’s any for the future to reveal.
