Rhea Ripley is a heel in WWE. She does a superb job maintaining her heel status on-screen and off-screen as well. But sometimes situations call for her to break her character. One such incident happened recently when she dropped the veil of her negative persona to celebrate success alongside an old foe.

While responding to a fan tweet, she tagged Iyo Sky and celebrated their incredible journey from newbies to champions in the Stamford-based promotion.

Just a day ago, WWE posted the video of the 2017 Mae Young Classic Semifinals on its YouTube Channel. Ripley and Sky were the semifinalists who battled each other for a spot in the finals. The match saw Sky pinning Ripley and advancing to the final round of the tournament.

A fan shared the video on his Twitter account, which caught Ripley’s attention. Replying to the tweet, she tagged her old foe and looked back at the incredible journey both the Women’s champions had in WWE. She wrote,And now we’re both Champions.”

Both the women champions are enjoying the run of their lives in WWE. They have worked so hard over the years in promotion and deserve every bit of success they have earned. With that being said, the journey has been fabulous, but not an easy one.

Still, many challenges lie ahead for the two champs as the golds that they carry on their shoulders always make them have targets on their back.

Tough times lie ahead for Ripley and Sky

As we are approaching the next premium live event, troubles for both the women champions are increasing with each passing day. The Women’s World Champion will face Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark in a Fatal 5-Way match at Crown Jewel where her title will be on the line.

Coming to the WWE Women’s Champion, she will face Charlotte Flair on this week’s edition of SmackDown. Sky successfully defended her championship from Flair and Asuka at Fastlane on October 7. But she had little help from her Damage CTRL stable mate, Bayley.

Since Iyo pinned Flair at the event (using unfair means), the latter went to SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis on last week’s show asking her for one more shot at the WWE Women’s Championship. Aldis granted her wish, and that is how this week’s championship match was set.
