The question of Rey Mysterio retiring has yet again been brought up by WWE.

Seth Rollin‘s latest troll-out was aimed at Rey Mysterio. In this particular segment, he organized a ‘retirement party’ for Mysterio. It was later revealed that he was the only reason behind it.

This cleared the air over doubts about whether Mysterio was actually retiring or not. The good news lasted just a few days before WWE started playing with fans’ heads again.

WWE hinted that Mysterio may actually hang up his boots after all. All this confusion began when Mysterio was asked about his future, and he said he needed time to think. He has remained silent.

However, WWE expects him to finally give an answer and end the entire debate on the next episode of RAW. This will obviously bump up viewer ratings.

WWE has used the entire thing to their advantage. Prolonging the doubt of Mysterio retiring to get the most out of it.

It is most probable that Mysterio will continue for a few more years and then leave. This is because he wants to get the career of his son Dominik up and running.

Rey Mysterio left WWE in 2014 after his career had seemingly run its course. Being booed at the 2014 Royal Rumble, he decided that his time had come.

Rey Mysterio has done it all, but is he done?

4 years later, after a lot of hype about his return, he surprisingly showed up at Royal Rumble 2018. The crowd was overwhelmed with his return and at one point, he was the favorite to win it.

However, since his return, Mysterio hasn’t been able to return to what he was in his prime. He physically has the green light, but no storyline seems to fit in with him.

Mysterio has also lost his uniqueness as a masked high-flyer as many of that kind have taken over the roasters. It seems like a major push is what he needs to re-establish his identity.
