As the world entered the year 2024, WWE decided to share a piece of bad news with their fans. The community is aware that since the big TKO merger, there have been quite a few departures from the company. This included many talents such as Dolph Ziggler and Matt Riddle, along with dozens of office staff.
While fans thought that the bad news might be over, WWE CEO Nick Khan shared in an official email details about the company’s latest departure who was a pioneer behind the WrestleMania 1.

For those who are unfamiliar with Dunn’s contributions, he has been leading the production and media unit at WWE for almost four decades. As per the email, he had joined the company way before the idea of WrestleMania was conceptualized, back in 1984. While Vince McMahon decided what path would be the best for the company, Dunn made sure the company went down that road.
Khan also credited Dunn for making WWE the sports entertainment juggernaut that fans know today. He believes that the company came out of its regional wrestling circuit days through his contributions.

As Kevin Dunn is set to leave the company, a major spot will be left open in the company. Along with many possible prospects for the spot, Dunn’s reason to leave WWE might be out too.
Why did Kevin Dunn decide to leave WWE?
While there is no solid word on this, there are some strong speculations as to why Dunn decided to leave WWE. With Dunn one of the most senior-most officials in the company, he has been reporting directly to Vince McMahon. Apart from that, the two shared a close bond as they have worked together for many years.

It has been stated that the sudden change in power at the company might be the reason why Dunn decided to leave. It wouldn’t be similar to the layoffs that happened at the company following the merger. Apart from that, Triple H might have already thought of who might replace Dunn. While AEW’s Mike Mansury is on top of his list, Mansury is bound by a long-term contract with AEW. Other names on the list include Marty Miller and Chris Kaiser. Dunn has played an important part in shaping the childhood of many fans and we wish him the best for his future.
