Former WWE star Jimmy Wang Yang is set to retire from his in-ring career. Yang had two runs with WWE after his debut in 2003. Although Yang did not have a fairly successful spell with the Stamford-based company, he had notable runs in independent wrestling promotions.

Jimmy Wang Yang competed in the Cruiserweight division during his time in WWE. After spending more than a decade wrestling outside the WWE, the LA native is ready to hang up his boots in Japan on July 15th.

Jimmy Yang is set to make his return to Japan after over two decades for his final match at Pro Wrestling Noah’s “One Night Dream”. As noted earlier, the show is scheduled to take place on July 15th. The 42-year-old star will team up with Super Crazy and Stallion Rodgers against YO-HEY, Tadasuke, and Anthony Greene in a six-man tag team match.

After leaving Vince McMahon’s company in 2010, Jimmy Yang bounced around the Indies while also running a limo service in Cincinnati called Jimmy’s Redneck Party Bus. Despite being released by the WWE in 2010, Yang returned to the company briefly in 2021 as a backstage producer.

The former Cruiserweight Champion was reportedly working backstage on Raw in October 2021. However, not long after his return, he was released in December. The brevity of his run as a producer was seemingly tied to the mass layoffs due to budget cuts during the global pandemic.

Jimmy Yang worked with well-known stars like Chavo Guerrero, Gregory Helms, Tommy Dreamer, and many others in WWE. One of his most memorable feuds was against Gregory Helms, who was widely known as Hurricane when he worked with top stars like The Rock and Kane. Nevertheless, at 42, Yang has plenty of options to pursue as his wrestling career inches toward its end.
