Even though DJ arguably surpassed his father in terms of popularity, Rocky Johnson crafted his own legacy in the ring and made history on his own.

The Rock wasn’t as close to his father as he was to his mother in his early days. But despite having a complex equation with his father, the Great One later realized he grew up in a safe hand.

Dwayne Johnson’s father was the one who primarily mentored him in the rookie days of his wrestling career. After Johnson lost the biggest support system of his life back in 2020, he revisited his dad’s parenting days and spilled how it contributed to making him an intense workaholic.

Johnson revealed his father used to carry him to the gym since he was 5. After he had grown up a little, his dad forced him to wake up early to hit the gym, even on Saturday and Sunday.

Fans clearly see the genetic supremacy here that played a vital role in making Dwayne The Rock Johnson and hence they had a copious amount of respect for Rocky Johnson. In his Instagram post, The Rock also reflected on Bray Wyatt’s passing while paying tribute to his father.

He wrote, “Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad Rough day yesterday, but forced me to search for those silver lining blessings – that you realize, if look hard enough, those silver linings are usually right there in front of you on the hardest of days.”

Rocky Johnson’s decorated career saw him win the NWA Television Championship two times, while he also won numerous tag team titles across various NWA promotions. But one of his most significant achievements came when he became the first black champion for WWE, which is the biggest pro wrestling company in the world. He holds a high place in pro wrestling folklore and after his son’s birthday post for him, comments from stars flooded in.

All the community members came together to pay respect to DJ’s father as soon as Johnson penned a poignant message alongside a tribute video on his Instagram handle.

Renowned UFC fighter Amanda Nunes expressed her solidarity with the celebrity wrestler via a two-emoji, ‘🙏🏻💪🏻’ comment. It was followed by praying hands emoji as a sincere token of respect from the prized Brazilian soccer player, Reinier Jesus.

Bodybuilding icon John Muenster was next in line to put his prayer for the deceased soul. He, too, put some emojis like’🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻’ to convey his thoughts.

Holywood actress Sangita Patel put their thoughts via comments and wrote, ‘Happy birthday to your dad.”

Also, numerous fans joined them to let out their emotions as well, with one of them beautifully writing, ‘ Rest in Peace, old soldier, you will always be remembered.’
