Paul Levesque, aka Triple H, has been away from the WWE’s NXT brand due to his health issues. In September 2021, Paul suffered from what was described as a “cardiac event,” necessitating surgery.
In the absence of The Game, Shawn Michaels has been currently leading the NXT 2.0. While Triple H is out in recovery, Dave Meltzer has filed the latest report in this week’s newsletter about Paul Levesque’s status and the NXT brand.

There have been very few updates on his condition since then. In November, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter described Triple H‘s situation as “very, very serious.”
Dave Meltzer mentioned that The Game is not in any conversation to continue leading the black and gold brand. He stated, “There are no plans right now, or even if Paul Levesque will return to running NXT or for him to do any creative in the company due to health issues. Obviously, if his health improves and if he wants to, that could change, but the word is that it’s not anything people have been told is happening imminently.“
Management impressed with Triple H’s best friend Shawn Michaels!
According to the reports, WWE is pleased with Shawn Michaels’ work done in development, under high pressure to make new stars quickly. However, the company did not expect that Michaels would do wonders at such a pace in Triple H’s absence.

“They are very happy with Shawn Michaels right now, feeling he’s been under pressure to make stars fast with changes in the show, and he made Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Knight, Grayson Waller, and Tony D’Angelo into stars very quickly,” Dave mentioned. [h/t irtwrestling.com]
The entire presentation of the WWE NXT has changed since Michaels’ presence. The HBK has been praised for his creative process and his understanding of making potential wrestlers stand out.

On the other hand, the most important thing is that Triple H focuses on improving his health and returning to his duties, if possible.
