Earlier there were reports of Cena possibly missing WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, California because of his busy movie schedule. But now the latest update on the Leader of Cenation making an appearance at WrestleMania next year is encouraging for his fans.
Positive update regarding John Cena’s WrestleMania status
After Cena announced his return to the ring for a match at the last SmackDown of the year, fans are excited to see him back in action after a year-long hiatus. Apart from this, there is even more good news for Cena fans regarding his WrestleMania status.
WWE has been trying its best to get the Doctor of Thuganomics to perform on the Grandest Stage of Them All and things look positive for them.
According to a Wrestling Observer Newsletter report, the Peacemaker star is working to get his schedule cleared in time for WrestleMania. Although it is not clear which other dates Cena would work in the build-up to WrestleMania for his match, it is a high possibility that he will be at the event.
The report stated, “The belief is that Cena will be working WrestleMania but what we were told is that he’s working on his schedule to make sure it works, but the belief is that he’ll get it done.”
Indeed, this is a big update for the Cenation as they hope to see The Franchise Player one more time at the stage he made his own for a number of years.
Ever since Cena made a name for himself in Hollywood, he has stayed away from the WWE ring for the most part. He has transitioned into a part-time performer for the company and shows up from time to time.
Last year, he stunned the wrestling world when he returned at the Money in the Bank event to confront Reigns and set up a match at SummerSlam against the Tribal Chief.
Now, with this latest update, it is highly possible that fans could see Super Cena in action again at a major event. As WWE looks to go all out for WrestleMania next year, having John Cena available will be best for business.
Who could face John Cena at WrestleMania?
And after Cena announced his return to SmackDown last week, WWE has already sold 4,000 tickets for the show in Tampa, which is quite impressive. He will team up with Kevin Owens to take on Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn in a tag team match on the show’s last episode of the year.
This shows that Cena still carries a massive selling power and is one of the main reasons why WWE wants him for WrestleMania.
The question that now arises is who will face The Champ next year at ‘Mania. Many people have speculated it could be Austin Theory as he has taken shots at Cena, others believe that a star as big as Cena should have an equally big opponent.
There is also a possibility of Stone Cold Steve Austin returning for WrestleMania and a confrontation between him and Cena would be epic.
