CM Punk returned to WWE after almost a decade at the 2023 Survivor Series held in his hometown. Since then, fans have been showing massive support for the former AEW star. One prime example of this was recently revealed in a report. According to the report, fans were very generous in supporting the Second City Saint to the extent that his merch sales matched the average salary of a main roster WWE star.
CM Punk’s merch sales are the best in the world
According to Pro Wrestling Insider, CM Punk’s merch sales crossed the six-figure mark on the night of his return to WWE. The WWE store initially had just one t-shirt that highlighted his return to WWE. However, seeing the staggering sales, the WWE online store is now full of various t-shirts, hoodies, and posters from the night of his return. What is also important to note is that most of the merchandise is out of stock, possibly due to the increasingly high demand for CM Punk merch.

This is something that is on par with the base salaries of many stars who are on the main roster. According to the sports news website, The Athletic, Triple H revealed that the annual base salary of many stars in 2022 on the main roster is $250,000.
However, these numbers vary when the star has more popularity. For superstars on the roster who are way more popular such as Roman Reigns and others, the salary is around $2 million to $8.5 million annually. Still, CM Punk matching the sales figures equal to the base salary on a single night is a massive feat.

CM Punk continues breaking records
Fans are familiar with the backstage altercations that happened at the Wembley Stadium on the night of AEW All-In. However, he was still a prime needle mover at the promotion even after being released. Despite his release in September, the 45-year-old star was the second-best seller on the AEW website. The top seller was the company itself.

The star had almost 42 items in the top 10 daily list over the course of several months. Even his return might have brought more things to the table for WWE.
Following his Survivor Series return, the clip which was shared on the social media handles of the promotion garnered millions of views over a few days. Along with that, Punk and WWE were a hot topic of conversation on social media, with the topic trending on X (formerly Twitter) and other social media websites. Apart from that, Triple H had revealed other numbers that advocated Punk’s popularity. While he is still a free agent, appearing on all three brands, only time will tell what other records he is going to break.
