Ever since WWE released Braun Strowman, the pro wrestling world has been buzzing with rumors as to why it happened. In 2017, Braun Strowman was one of the most ‘over’ wrestlers in the entire company. He was even positioned to be the next in line to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal title.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has stated that Braun’s contract played a significant part in his release. Meltzer even went on to reveal that Strowman was on a $1.2 Million guaranteed deal.
With the arrival of other giants such as Omos, Azeez, and Shanky, ‘The Monster Among Men’ had become “obsolete”. He said,
“With Strowman, who was on a $1.2 million guaranteed deal and had just a few weeks back denigrated all non-WWE wrestling and said he would never work anywhere else, the decision was made because of the feeling he was two years past his peak and he had become obsolete as the roster giant because of Omos on Raw, Commander Azeez on Smackdown, and perhaps Shanky on Raw, being on the main roster who were so much bigger than he is”

Braun Strowman made a massive contract mistake!
The report also talked about a huge mistake Strowman made while negotiating his contract in 2019. According to Meltzer, that would have prevented him from getting fired. His words were,
”His salary worked against him and one person noted he made a huge mistake in negotiations because when he signed his new deal, he was considered a hot commodity and if he pushed for it, probably could have gotten a no-cut contract that a few of the bigger names have.”
Braun did not push for the ‘no-cut contract’. Strowman probably never imagined WWE would decide to cut him after signing him to such a strong long-term deal.
What a chapter in life. Thank you!!!!!
