It has been a week since WWE released some wrestlers from their roster. Many fans are worried about these wrestlers as their livelihood depended on it. Whilst this might be the case for some wrestlers, apparently, it is not for Braun Strowman.

According to reports, Braun Strowman has told promoters that his demand price is in the five-figure range, and isn’t looking to take independent bookings immediately. 

This confirms the theory that ‘The Monster Among Men’ was on a hefty deal during his time in WWE.

Braun Strowman released due to paycheck issues

Braun was a genuine favorite of the fans. Everything about him fascinated them, from his in-ring ability to his promo ability, he was one of the reasons why people tuned in to watch WWE.

Now with his release, WWE has surely reduced the amount of money going out, but in doing so, they have also inevitably caused a decline in their ratings.

Braun is a megastar and will unquestionably captivate the eyes of fans no matter which wrestling corporation he ends up in. This means fewer tune-ins for WWE.

However, in WWE’s defense, it is indeed troublesome to keep paying such enormous amounts of money to a wrestler in this pandemic.

Huge mistake!

In the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter“, Dave Meltzer has stated that Braun’s contract played a significant part in his release. He explained,

“His salary worked against him and one person noted he made a huge mistake in negotiations because when he signed his new deal, he was considered a hot commodity and if he pushed for it, probably could have gotten a no-cut contract that a few of the bigger names have.”
