The first edition of Monday Night Raw of the year did not go well for the women’s champion, Bianca Belair. She managed to retain her title via a DQ but sustained a ferocious beat down from her opponent, Alexa Bliss. So much so that her real-life husband and one-half of  The Street Profits Montez Ford had to accompany her to the back. Bliss contested in a tournament to earn a shot at the top women’s prize of the red brand last month.

The EST of the WWE has had a long and impressive run with the title from April last year. However, the drubbing that she received at the hands of Bliss has raised concerns for her well-being. The manner in which she was attacked might have the fans worried. The Survivor Series WarGames match seems such a far cry from the events that unfolded on Raw. Both the champion and the challenger teamed up in that match not long ago.

Alexa Bliss has been having episodes with the cryptic Bray Wyatt sign appearing all around the arena. But this had to be the moment when she completely lost it and unleashed a fury rarely seen in the WWE.

In a topsy-and-turvy encounter, both displayed their efficiency in the ring before Bliss’s dark side took over. It remains to be seen what this means for Belair, who has held her own on any challenges thrown at her.

2022 saw her ward off frequent and stiff challenges from Bayley and ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch. Belair is fast earning a reputation as one of the best the promotion has to offer. She is definitely one of the reasons why the red brand’s women’s division is doing better than the blue brand. The attack was so brutal that Belair was busted open and was put under medical evaluation. Any injury concern might dent WWE as well as her momentum, which seemed to be going the right way.

Bianca Belair has shown during her reign that she is a fighting champion. But this twisted attack from Bliss is bound to test her patience. As for Bliss, her connection with Bray Wyatt is appearing stronger by the day. Wyatt is scheduled to face LA Knight in the first-ever Pitch Black match at Royal Rumble. It will be quite interesting to know how things unfold in the weeks to come. Either way, wrestling fans will be waiting with baited breaths to know the outcome.
